Shinjuku Gyoen

Shinjuku Gyoen features approximately 900 cherry trees of over 70 varieties, allowing visitors to enjoy cherry blossom viewing over an extended period. From the early-blooming Kawazu-zakura in mid-February, to the Somei Yoshino from mid-March to early April, and the double-flowered cherry blossoms in mid-April, each variety blooms at a different time.
The park is expansive, with drastically different landscapes such as formal gardens, Japanese gardens, and lawns, offering a unique atmosphere depending on the walking route. There are many photogenic spots, and even during busy times, visitors can enjoy the scenery with relative ease.
It is an ideal spot for those who want to compare different cherry blossom varieties while strolling, or for those who wish to enjoy a leisurely cherry blossom viewing in a calm atmosphere.
