Kotohiragu or “Konpirasan” Shrine has long been a popular spot which enshrines a sea god and is called “Sanuki-no-Konpirasan.” It is known by its long stone steps in the pilgrimage path which counts 1,368 steps. Every year, Konpira Stone Steps Marathon is held there. On both side of the path, there are many souvenir shops and udon shops, and always crowded with pilgrims. In the precincts, Syoin, a drawing room, and Asahisha Hall which is famous for its elaborated sculpture, are designated as Important Cultural Properties, and the Treasure Hall exhibits many cultural assets and artworks.
Yellow fortune amulets are very popular souvenir.
