Nakayama is a kappo-style restaurant located in the heart of Gion. It was renovated from an old traditional teahouse. The spacious Doma floor now features counter seating, and the inner garden is visible from the private rooms, both preserved as they were in the past. The ingredients are carefully selected by the owner-chef, who personally visits the market to choose each one meticulously. The restaurant's specialty is hot pot dishes that highlight the flavors of each season. Paying special attention to the broth, different broths are used for every hot pot. Only Mr. Nakayama, the owner, prepares the dishes. His skillful techniques ensure that the dishes convey the ingredients' deliciousness directly. Kappo Nakayama has consistently emphasized the importance of creating a relaxing atmosphere for its guests.
